My Office
Therapy includes looking back at your history to see how it informs who you are today as well as looking at the immediacy of your current life issues and trying to find a happier, healthier way to live in your life.
In my therapy practice I work mostly with adults and couples. We generally meet for individual sessions. I run several groups and find that to be a very growth-filled way for a person to participate in therapy.

A first therapy visit usually involves our sitting together in my office to discuss your life. We'll explore how you came to be the person you are and talk about what you would like to change in your life.
If a crisis is what brought you into therapy, we'll talk about the various aspects of the crisis. Generally therapy includes a composite of our discussions and some new ways to approach your challenges that we will develop together.
I enjoy joining with people and collaborating with them in thinking through their life choices as they move through the many phases of their lives. I often work with people in transitions in their lives - getting married, getting divorced, having children, trying to get pregnant, dealing with young adulthood, approaching later years.
It's important for you to say what you think and feel as well as to ask questions in the first meeting. At the end of the first session, I can usually give you some useful feedback and we can decide if we want to continue working together. If I am not the right person for you, I'll do my best to recommend someone else.
